Can You Hear Me NOW?

Poems from a guest writer . . .

We've been down this road before
Shown worse devils to the door

Throw off our chains of slavery
Now is the time to set ourselves free
And reclaim our liberty

We’ve come too far to give up now
We’ve fought too hard to abandon our ground
Though the battle may be long
And the oppressors are strong
In time, the battle will be won

Tyrants have come, tyrants have gone
Ever since the days of Babylon

The chance of winning may seem low
But there is something I know
Something that gives me hope...

We’ve come too far to give up now
We’ve fought too hard to abandon our ground
Though the battle may be long
And the oppressors are strong
In time, the battle will be won

They bought the politicians and the news
They've got all the weapons (which they like to use)

But they are few and we're billions strong
We are the giant ... been sleeping for too long
Time to wake up and sing our victory song

We’ve come too far to give up now
We’ve fought too hard to abandon our ground
Though the battle may be long
And the oppressors are strong
In time, the battle will be won

* * *

I, your forefather who sacrificed to make a better life for you
Urge you to find the courage to stand up to the tyrants
Lest you lose what generations of your ancestors struggled for

I, the ghost of your son killed in Iraq
Scream that you must impeach, remove and convict the liars
Or they will march on into Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia and beyond

I, your future great-grandchild
Whisper that you must expose the truth about 9/11
Or I will grow up in a world where the most ruthless rule through violence

I, the spirit of America
Demand that the cancerous cells which have taken over this land be cut out
So the maliginancy does not spread and destroy my entire body

I have been urging, screaming, whispering and demanding for years
Can You Hear me NOW?

* * *

Hold on tight
To the place inside where the candle burns
And tend to the flame
Then it will always light your way

The vision seen
Was more than just a dream
And the truth will shine
Even through the darkest night

My comment: The battle to spread the truth and make the world a better place is a long one, and -- to avoid burn out or hopelessness -- you have to do the things that will sustain you and give you hope and strength in the long run.

The poems are from a songwriter and poet called "The Voice". The Voice says about the second poem "its actually a song". Regarding all 3 poems, The Voice says: Copyright 1990-2005, The Voice, All Rights Reserved. Distribute freely for non-commercial uses.

Postscript: Someone called Sisyphus posted a comment to this blog that I like so much I'm copying it here: "We need to all become the voice..."

It does seem like a controlled demolition at the WTC. But how could bombs be planted in an occupied building without anyone noticing. Maybe someone needs to question the former occupants, to find out if anything out of the usual occurred in the months leading to 9/11.
If only a handful of people are capable of this feat, we should find out who they are, and track their movements prior to 9/11.

There is a time coming very soon where the true Americans will grow tired of waiting of for others to bring justice to these criminals,

they will bring justice themselves, and there will be no appeal.
