Independence Day
I celebrate the Fourth of July. Why?
Because our forefathers courageously fought for independence against the most powerful empire of the day.
Because they fought for freedom of religion.
Because they fought for freedom from taxation without representation (remember the Boston Tea Party?)
Even though the U.S.A. has become a fascist country
Even though American leaders have committed some of the greatest war crimes in history
Even though criminals have taken over our government
I celebrate the spirit of our founding fathers who struggled and won against tyrants with overwhelming power.
The current imperial oppressor, enforcer of religious intolerance, and tax-man who ignores the people's will is -- unfortunately -- not thousands of miles away and across an ocean. The enemy is now within, the Republican and Democratic "leadership" who have sold their souls and march to the same well-paying drummer, unwilling to listen to the 300 million drummers who are We The People of the United States of America.
So on this 4th of July, I proclaim my independence from those who are destroying our country, and I invoke the courage of our forefathers to fight for liberty and justice.

I agree with all you have said except the part where you call the U.S. a fascist state. Saddamm, Lenin, Stalin, Il Song, Hitler, and the like is not what we have in th White House. So your way off on that point. If Bush was like the above characters then all that disagrees with him would be exterminated. We would not have the freedoms we enjoy like posting on this blogg. The government is a joke, and they don't have the interest of the people at heart; look a the leadership in the White House and in the Congress. Chimpanzees could do a better job then them. We stop being real Americans after WWII. It is all about an elite class running our country, and we have to make a living the best we can for our families. I believe the system is corrupt, and we live in the rule of law instead of doing the right thing. Look at our society and you will see what I mean. The only way we will change is when the barbarians are knocking at the door, and then it will be too late.

I am amazed at the level of ignorance displayed by citizens . The Republic was founded by truely good people that read & spoke truth & common sense. It's that simple. Read the documents of your freinds and your enemies. The Patriot Act & the John Warner Act have far worse powers than any dictator in history.Stalin , Mao & Atilla did not make such laws nor did Pol Pot or Hitler they just did what they did. Bush Chaney have become the first Dictators to make the acts they will commit legal. You are going to be executed under martial law for not agreeing with President or showing disloyalty or criticizing the Government or committting any Offence considered a felony at the time.Please read your own Laws.

People have generally taken the word "facism" to mean anything evil, without regard for its real meaning. So, let's call this country's system what it is, corporatism. And, as Ron Paul stated, "corporatism is evil".
Politicians only listen to money and the possibility they'll be yanked from office by voter turnaround.
The thing to do now is inundate the Judiciary committee of the House with letters and calls demanding they begin hearings on impeachment. These are the people that get it started, and time is of the essence. Check this DailyKos link

But we alaso are staring down Net Neutrality, which would give preferred access to major sites and make blogs less accessible, possibly to the point where it would be as effective as posting an essay on your wall at home.
